North Hills Losse to GS in WPIAL Team Championships

North Hills qualified for the WPIAL playoffs for the fourth year in a row.

The teams overall record is 16-9.

  

Three North Hills Wreslers reached Career #100 

Cameron Weber, Ben Amrhein and TJ McElwaine all posted their 100th win.

North Hills is tied with NA for 1st place in Section 3b

North Hills also qualified for the WPIAL Playoffs (4th consec yr.)

Cameron Weber is rankd #6 in the WPIAL at 119

North Hills Defeats Shaler Area 47-23

The team is  3-0 in Section 3b and 12-4 overall

Varsity Wrestling Team Finished 4th at Wheeling Park Duals

  • They defeated John Marshall WV, Trotwood-Madison OH, Greenbier East WV, and
  • South Garrett MD at the Wes Banco Arena in Wheeling
  • Cameron Weber (8-0), Kraig Esswein (7-0), and
  • TJ McElwaine (8-0) were undefeated throughout the tournament

North Hills finishes 3rd at North Hills Dual Invitational

Junior High Volleyball Start Date is Monday, Feb. 8th

Tryouts/Practices will be held in the Sr. High Gym the first week

  • There have been announcements made with regard to signing up for tryouts
  • Students interested in trying out must have a physical and waiver release form
  • Information and forms available on this website to view and download
  • Only one comprehensive exam is required for the entire year (dated after june 1, 2009)
  • Those who do not are not permitted to tryout, and dates are set for tryouts

  • A physical is required by the PIAA to participate, and we must have a waiver on file
  • Only one comprehensive exam is required for the entire year (dated after june 1, 2009)

  •  Athletic Scholarships Announced

    WPIAL Scholar Athlete Scholarship Information Now Available in Athletic Office 

  • The WPIAL Awards Four $5,000 scholarships and Ten $500 Scholarships
  • to those student athletes who excel in athletics, academics, and community service
  • Students will have to stop in Athletic Office to sign-up and obtain an access password

The "Time to be First" Athletic Scholarship

  •  is for any high school senior graduating in 2010 that has participated on
  •  an athletic team or club. Applicants are required to write an essay describing
  • why it is their time to be first - first at college, first in the community, first in athletics.
  • Applicants will be entered to win one of ten $1,000 Scholarships. Forms availale to download below:

The following student athletes attended the first WPIAL Sportsmanship Summit

The event was held at the Heinz Regional Center with over 600 in attendance

North Hills Recipient of PIAA Sportsmanship Award

  • North Hills has been awarded the PIAA Sportsmanship Award for 2008-2009
  • This is the seventh time in the last eight years North Hills has been so recognized
  • The award was presented at the WPIAL football championships at Heinz Field/Nov. 27th
  • Representing North Hills are Dan Cardone/Emily Winkler/Elajah David/Patrick Mannarino

  • North Hills Partners with Pittsburgh Steelers/NFL

  • North Hills will again participate in the Atlas and Athena Programs in 2009
  • The program was developed by Oregon Health and Science University
