 SPORTS PHYSICALS 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR

Those interested in participating in a sport must have a physical examination. There is only one physical needed in the state of Pennsylvania. It must be dated June 1, 2010 or later. The forms can be downloaded from this site.

    NFHS Adopts New Rule on Concussions
     
    The NFHS, which is the governing body for interscholastic athletics, had adpoted a new rule 
    regarding concusssions. IF a player shows signs of a possible concussion, they are to be removed from
     the contest, and cannot return to play until such time as they are cleared by a certified health
     care provider.The PIAA, which oversees high school athletics in the state of Pennsylvania, has stated that 
    the form known as the CIPPE form (Section 6) must be executed by a Licensed Physician of Medicine or 
    Osteopathic Medicine.

    The Mobile Locker Room was at North Hills for an entire Week

    It has been a big hit with North Hills Athletes, who have learned first hand

    North Hills Girls' Softball Team

    Wins Atlas and Athena/Pittsburgh Steeler Poster Contest

    For the Second Year in a Row a North Hills Sports Team has Won

    In 2009, the Girls' Tennis Team captured the essence of the Athena Program through their poster.

    In 2010 the Girls Softball Team Did the Same.

    Emily Jamison Selected to Attend National Student Leadership Conference
    Sophomore Emily Jamison was one of 12 student athletes in the state of Pennsylvania chosen to attend the NFHS
    Leadership Conference in Indianapolis in July. Emily is a tri-athlete who also excels in the classroom.

    Girls Lacrosse Team Captures Section Title

    The girls' lacrosse team finished with an overall record of 11-4

    They advanced to the WPIAL Playoffs/Division 2 for the second year in a row.

    The team lost to Seton LaSalle 11-4.

    The team shared the section title with Shadyside Academy with a record of 7-1

     Baseball Team Finishes at 11-7

    The team defeated North Allegheny 8-3 and Mars 9-4 to finish the season

    The team was 11-7 overall, and 5-7 in the section.  

    The team finished with a strong performance, and narrowly missed the playoffs 

    Congratulations to Jessie Bauer, who was named Player of the Week by ESPN Radio

    Congratulations to Jessie Bauer and Tlyer Schmidt who were named All-Section
